Dal Makhani

Creamy black lentil gravy

Makes: 300g dal

Ingredients Required:

250g Urad Dal / Black Lentils

50g Rajma / Red kidney beans

200g tomatoes

50g butter

50g cream



Soak 250g urad dal (black lentils) and 50g rajma (red kidney beans) in water overnight or for 8 hours atleast. In a pressure cooker, heat 4 tbsp oil and add 200g crushed tomatoes, 50g Nimkish Dal Makhani Masala and sauté on medium heat till oil separates. Now, add 300g pre soaked dal (urad dal & rajma) and 4 cups of water, close the lid and cook on high heat till the first whistle. Afterwards, let it cook on low heat for 1 hour. Turn off the heat, let the pressure release and open the lid. Now add 50g butter & 50g cream and cook for another 5-10 minutes. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve.
